LET'S INVADE 3 PROJECT

This is the complete archive of the
game project "LET'S INVADE 3".

The following tools were used in order
to develop this production.

- Charpad V2.7.6 (free) for graphics
- SpritePad V2.0 for game sprites
- GT Ultra V1.5.5 for music
- KickAssembler V5.25 for compiling
(Requires java in order to compile)
- CBMPRGStudio V4.6.0 for development
- Dali Cruncher (for final compression)
- VICE and my Ultimate 64 for testing

CBMPRGSTUDIO COMPILING INSTRUCTIONS:

Set VICE autostart settings to use the
virtual filesystem mode.

You will need CBMPRGStudio V4.6.0 or
any other IDE that supports coding or
compiling with KickAssembler. I use
CBMPRGStudio, because of the amount of
nuicanses VSCode has with its tooltips
and unexpected errors.

If using CBMPRGStudio, load the project
file:

lets_invade_3.cbmprj

Afterwards, go to the project explorer
and then double-click on the li3.asm
filename.

Click on the build prg icon then press
the build and launch option button to
run the project in VICE.

The game should now launch and run.

VSCODE COMPILING INSTRUCTIONS:

You will need a batch runner app to
be able to compile and run the game
project. Install the batch runner
application from the VSCODE apps menu
and enable it. You will also need to
install and configure KickAssembler by
Paul Hocker.

Next open the project folder LET'S
INVADE 3 in VSCODE. In the project
explorer, open the file BUILDIT.BAT.
Edit the filepaths to KickAssembler and
where you placed your cruncher (Dali).
Save it out and then press F5 to
compile and launch the game project.

INFO:

This game was made as part of the
"Let's Make a C64 Game" feature for
Scene World issue 36. Due to the huge
size of the project. The article is
mainly based on the actual game code,
instead of everything else. This is
due to limitation of text space which
the diskmag allows. Also the title
screen should be pretty much straight
forward because the code for how it
is built was used in previous chapters.
